The new Epson Stylus SX218 is a multi function printer that offers printing scanning and photo copying in one compact unit. It size is small enough to fit on anyone’s desk and sleek design means it should look good too. Its list of functions seems to go on and on, photo printing as a well as a built-in card reader means you don’t even need a PC to be able to print photo lab quality prints straight from the memory in your camera. The scanning capabilities are impressive to, with a maximum scan resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi up to A4 and bundled OCR software means you can edit any text document that you scan. The photocopier function like photo printing is standalone and is capable to copying in black or colour though is a bit limited as it can only make a maximum of 9 copies at a time. The Stylus SX218 takes four printer ink cartridges, one for black, cyan, magenta and yellow. This ink system is very good as you only have to change the cartridges that are empty and no ink gets wasted. The genuine Epson ink cartridges are reasonably priced compared to other branded printer ink, but the real value for money can be found in compatible Epson SX218 ink cartridges which cost 75% less and print just a many pages.
